‘Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie’ Premieres August 28
Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie Poster Revealed

Are you getting excited for the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie? I know I am! The movie looks to have plenty of action, comedy and family fun.
The hit Disney Channel series, Wizards of Waverly Place gets the movie length treatment as the Russo finds themselves in jeopardy when Alex Russo (Selena Gomez) casts a spell in anger.
Disney has announced the movie will premiere on the Disney Channel at 8pm on August 28, 2009!
The Disney Channel is amping up its promotion of this movie event. They will air special cast picked episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place, leading up the movie’s premiere date. The Wizards cast will host their movie’s presentation for the entire weekend of August 28, 29 and 30, with behind-the-scenes look at the Magic of Wizards of Waverly Place.
Be sure to check DisneyChannel.com for games and updates on this exciting Wizards of Waverly Place event!
Part of the Disney Channel’s promotional material are the DCOM Extras, currently airing on the network. Watch two of them below.
The first DCOM deals with the main plot of the movie. Also hear which scene Selena liked the best in the movie:
The cast reveals what it was like to film on location for the movie in this second DCOM:
Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are One And The Same
Real-life BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez starred in the friendship movie, Princess Protection Program on the Disney Channel. The movie is now available on Disney DVD, which includes another team-up of the two friends – singing the film’s poppy, fun theme song “One And The Same.”
I love the special effects the director employs to reinforce the song’s theme.
Ever since I’ve heard it, I can’t help singing this song. The music video makes the song more memorable as you can tell that Demi and Selena are having too much fun singing and acting out scenes in the music video. Their great friendship, and the fun they have with each other, is contagious!
Demi and Selena, your fans want more collabations together!!

Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie Soundtrack
To coincide with Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie, Disney is releasing a soundtrack to movie. Premiering in August, Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie will air on the Disney Channel as part of the network’s Summer of Stars.
Here’s the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie Soundtrack Listing:
1. Disappear – Selena Gomez
2. Magical – Selena Gomez
3. Magic (Pilot) – Selena Gomez
4. Strange Magic – Steve Rushton
5. Magic (The Cars) – Honor Society
6. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic – Mitchel Musso
7. Magic Carpet Ride – KSM
8. Magic (Xanadu) – Meaghan Martin
9. You Can Do Magic – Drew Seeley
10. Some Call It Magic Raven – Symoné
11. Do You Believe in Magic – Aly & AJ
12. Everything Is Not As It Seems – Selena Gomez
Now listen to samples from the album:
Unfortunately, I’m not not overly excited about this soundtrack. I love Aly & AJ (now called 78violet), but their contribution to the album is song that already appeared on “Into the Rush.” Selena Gomez does sing four of the twelve songs on the soundtrack, so if I’m purchasing it I’m buying it for Selena. More likely I’ll purchase the Selena Gomez songs off iTunes.
It’s obvious Disney decided to just remake songs that have magic in the title, since it’s for a movie about Wizards. While it’s neat to hear the Disney music stars’ rendition of these pop classics, I’d much rather Disney offer original music for the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie.
Disney’s “Princess” takes throne
Real-life BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez star in Princess Protection Program, which premiered successfully Friday night on the Disney Channel. The movie is a great, sweet and fun story of friendship and being happy with yourself.

According to this Rueters article, Princess Protection Program now stands as the third-most-watched Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) behind High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock. Very impressive! Much praise to Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, whose

Wizards Of Waverly Place: The Movie – Full Length Trailer
During the Friday, June 26 premiere of Disney Channel’s Princess Protection Program, we received an extra special treat in the form of the full-length trailer of Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie! The two-hour movie version stars all the series regulars and will premiere on the Disney Channel August 1 at 8pm.
The movie deals with the Russo family vacation gone wrong. Parents Jerry and Theresa decide to celebrate their anniversary at the Carribbean resort where they first met, bringing their children along. Alex (Selena Gomez) becomes upset at the lack of freedom she’s given. In a fit of anger, she wishes her parents had never met, casting a time reversal spell causing her parents to not meet.
With her brothers Justin and Alex, they must journey into the jungle to find the Stone of Dreams to reverse the spell and save the family.
Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie looks like a winner! The TV show is fun and the movie version seems to have captured that essence, along with a bit of extra added action and suspense. Check out the full-length trailer below!
