Miley Cyrus “Goodbye to Twitter” Rap

Disney tween pop starlet was a big time Twitterholic.  That’s right was.  She has made BREAKING NEWS when she tweeted BUH BYE to the popular social networking site.  Fans were left perplexed and confused as the reasons why.  Cyrus turns to YouTube to give her fans the reasons why she’s given up Twitter in a “Goodbye to Twitter” rap song.

Watch the video below and then let us know YOUR thoughts on this news!

Rumors Buzzing that Miley Cyrus to be Batgirl in next Bat-film

Oh boy.  The Internet is abuzz with rumors that Warner Brothers executives were stunned by the Disney singer-actress as she appeared at the audition in full batsuit!

The Globe’s Loosh Lips column broke the news stating:

“She was sort of hopping around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself. The problem is, some people aren’t really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it of.”

I think the the tabloid is just trying to generate buzz and sell papers.

Which I guess is what we’re trying to do as well by passing on this story.

But really I love Miley and enjoy reporting on what’s happening with the Hannah Montana star!  I doubt the validity of this report.  The previous Bat-movies were about getting “names” (e.g. Chris O’Donnell, George Clooney, Alicia Silverstone) into the franchise.  Current Bat-director Christopher Nolan understands that he must cast the appropriate actors for the roles as the actors in boh Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have been spot on in their performances!

Nevertheless, I am eager for Miley Cyrus to grew in her acting roles.  If Nolan thinks she can do a good job as Batgirl, then I’m onboard!  His Batman movies have been nothing short of OUTSTANDING!

Pretending that this story is true, what do you think of Miley Cyrus in the next Batman movie?  How do you think she’d be as Batgirl?  Is Miley ready to make the transition into a more grown-up role?

Miley Cyrus to Perform at “VH1 Divas”

This performance will be part of “VH1 Divas,” which will air live on VH1 Thursday, September 17 at 9 p.m.

Emily Osment To Release Debut Album

Emily OsmentThe Hannah Montana star signs with Wind-Up Records for 2010 release date.  She co-wrote all the songs for her first album.

“We have been closely following Emily’s music career, through music promoted in films and on television. After meeting her and listening to her demos, it was very clear that she is extremely passionate about her music, is a talented songwriter and has a certain edge to her vocals that will distinguish her from her contemporaries,” Edward Vetri, president of Wind-Up Records, said in a statement.

“I am so excited I am getting the chance to finally share my music with everyone,” Osment added. “I have been playing guitar and writing songs since I was little, so it seems like this album has been in process for years. The opportunities and amazing people I have been so fortunate to work with have literally been a dream come true. I can’t wait for all of my very patient fans to hear the music that’s been such a huge part of my life for the past two years.”

I’ve always loved Emily’s “BFF to Miley” performance on Hannah.  But when I heard her remake of Once Upon A Dream from Sleeping Beauty and saw her video for the song, I was immediately captivated.  She sounds good on this song.  Her other musical offerings from this Disney star have promise.  I’m eager to hear her own sound and what she feels compelled to write about.

Here’s Emily’s video for Once Upon A Dream:

‘Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana’ Becomes Most Watched Scripted Telecast of 2009

Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana

Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 powered the extravaganza event that crossed over stars and storylines from Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life on Deck and Hannah Montana into the most watched scripted telecast of 2009.  The 90-minute presentation also became cable’s No. 1 telecast in those same demographics.  In fact, only NBC’s “Super Bowl XLIII” coverage beat Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana as the most watched TV telecast among Kids 6-11.

Nickelodeon sent it’s First Night of a Weekend-Long 10th Anniversary Spongebob Celebration (which featured an original episode at 8pm) against the Disney Channel telecast and lost big time.  Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana dominated the rival network’s event by more than doubling it in Total Viewers (9.3 million viewers versus 3.6 million) and more than tripling in core kid demographics (Kids 6-11: 3.8 million vs. 1.2 million and Tweens 9-14: 3.7 million vs 982,000).

This crossover greatly improved upon the first crossover, That’s Suite Life of Hannah Montana.  There’s still the problem of juggling all the characters of three shows.  Mostly the minor characters, such as Harper from Wizards of Waverly Place and Oliver, Rico and Jackson from Hannah Montana, stayed on their shows and didn’t crossover.  Actually the Suite Life on Deck characters cross-overed to the other two shows.  And my only criticism of the event was it had too much of the Suite Life characters, but as their show’s setting was the crossover’s setting, I guess that makes sense.  I just really wanted to see some Miley-Selena screen time.

We’ll review more in-depth this record setting cross over event on a future blog post as well as on a future episode of The Magic Never Ends Podcast.  Stay tuned!

And if you haven’t seen 2009′s Most Watched Scripted Telecast, or want to see it again, watch it TONIGHT, Sunday, July 19, at 8pm on the Disney Channel.

Disney To Build Young Adult Fairy Saga Around Miley Cyrus

The Hannah Montana star will play a pretty fairy in the Wings Saga

According to Variety, Disney acquired the rights to Wings, a young adult fairy novel written by Aprilynne Pike.  Miley Cyrus will play Laurel, a 15-year-old girl who discovers she is a fairy sent among humans to guard the gateway to Avalon.  While attending a large high school, Laurel learns of her true nature when she sprouts a pair of wings.  Originally published in May, the novel is planned as part of a four-title series.

Debuting to positive reviews, Wings draws frequent comparisions to Stephenie Meyer’s popular Twiglight Saga.  Meyer’s gave Pike’s work her endorsement by stating “Aprilynne Pike’s Wings is a remarkable debut; the ingenuity of the mythology is matched only by the startling loveliness with which the story unfolds.

The book (and movie) should perform well as it clearly targets the huge Twilight fan base.  Wings has the familiar love triangle (between Laurel, the human boy David and the fairy Tamani) and danger that have enthralled the Twilight fanatics.

The Wings saga should prove to be another franchise hit for Disney.  This move to establish a young adult fairy saga seems to complement the company’s already established Fairy line, staring Tinker Bell, which is aimed at a young children.

Currently Cyrus is filming The Last Song, an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel.

Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana Crossover airs THIS Friday at 8pm!

Nine stars from three shows all aboard the S.S. Tipton for crazy Disney Channel fun!

Don’t miss this special event this Friday at 8pm to the Disney Channel.

Disney did a fantastic job with their first crossover event, That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana, which brought episodes of the Suite Life of Zack & Cody, That’s So Raven and Hannah Montana together.  I’m more excited by this second crossover event.  We will get to see great pairings from the various shows, as well as Hannah Montana and London Tipton catching up from the last crossover event.  Too bad Ashley Tisdale isn’t on Suite Life on Deck.  I enjoyed her character (Maddie Fitzpatrick) sharing screen time with Hannah in That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana.

Disney also announced it will release the 90-minute, 3-part event on Disney DVD on September 22, 2009. Special features will include cast bloopers and behind-the-scene footage.

Read the plot for Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana below.  Then watch the Disney Channel commercial.

Part 1: “Cast-Away (To Another Show)”

Part 1 is Episode 25 of Season 2 of Wizards of Waverly Place. Justin (David Henrie) is excited to meet London Tipton (Brenda Song) when he wins an essay contest prize: a cruise on the SS Tipton. Alex (Selena Gomez) and Max (Jake T. Austin) join Justin onboard, where Alex bonds with new friend Bailey (Debby Ryan), but soon gets in hot water when she uses magic to bring Harper (Jennifer Stone) aboard. Meanwhile, Max and Zack (Dylan Sprouse) compete in a series of outrageous challenges.

Part 2: “Double-Crossed”

Part 2 is Episode 21 of Season 1 of The Suite Life On Deck. Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) boards the SS Tipton on her way to a concert performance in Honolulu. To impress Bailey, Cody (Cole Sprouse) enlists Woody (Matthew Timmons) to help him get tickets. Meanwhile, the Russos use a little magic to spice up their vacation – Alex pulls a prank on Justin, for which Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis) blames Zack, while Max introduces London to a magical suitcase.

Part 3: “Super(Stitious) Girl”

Part 3 is Episode 19 of Season 3 of Hannah Montana. While on the ship deck, Miley loses the charm ankle bracelet that her mother gave her and when things start to go wrong, she is sure it’s because she lost her lucky charm also London finds it. Miley as Hannah asks her to give it back but London refuses. Meanwhile, Cody tells Bailey that he has a close friendship with Hannah and promises great seats to her concert but Alex also says she and Bailey can go together.

Miley Cyrus & Sister Show Off ‘Ponyo’ trailer

Entertainment Tonight posted a video with sisters Miley and Noah Cyrus.

Noah will voice the title character in the English Adaption of the Hayao Miyazaki animated movie, Ponyo.  The plot centers on a juvenile fish named Ponyo who wants to become a human girl. In pursuing her goal, she befriends a five-year-old human boy, S?suke (voiced by the “bonus Jonas” Frankie Jonas).

Ponyo also boasts the all-star voice talents of Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cloris Leachman, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin and Betty White.

Ponyo will hit theaters August 14, 2009.

The trailer looks good and while I might not see it in the theaters I will definitely rent it.  Ponyo looks like a very cute and fun movie.  The animation is a different style than with I’m familiar.  Although anime fans are familiar with Miyazaki’s style.  I actually did want to see Miyazaki’s Spirited Away but never had the opportunity.  Maybe now is a good time in preparation for Ponyo.

What are your thoughts on Ponyo?  Will you go see it?  Have you seen any other movies by Hayao Miyazaki?  Let us know!

New Hannah Montana Episode: “I Honestly Love You (No, Not You)”

Just Jared Jr. shared details and pictures on the July 26 Hannah Montana episode, I Honestly Love You (No, Not You).

In the episode, Miley is in the hospital recovering from a concert injury, she overhears Oliver (Mitchel Musso) say “I love you.” Assuming he was saying it to her, Miley tells Lilly (Emily Osment), and they hatch a plan to remind Oliver of his feelings for Lilly.

My most favorite Hannah episodes where Miley hatches a crazy scheme and drags BFF Lilly along for the adventure.  This episode should be great!

Tune into the Disney Channel on Sunday, July 26 @ 7:30PM ET/PT for I Honestly Love You (No, Not You)

After you watch it, return here to MagicNeverEnds.com and let us know what you thought of the episode!

‘Wizards on Deck With Hannah Montana’ coming July 17

The Disney Channel brings three of its shows together for another Crossover Event!

Last time it was the That’s so Suite Life of Hannah Montana which brought the stars of That’s So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Hannah Montana together.  Crossovers are very tricky.  It’s not always easy to blend different styles together.  Inevitably a character or show element is short-changed for the sake of the crossover.  The Disney Channel writes masterfully brought together those three shows to form an almost sleemless story.  It wasn’t perfect but it made for a great hour and a half event!

I hoped that the That’s so Suite Life of Hannah Montana had reached a level of success for The Disney Channel so they’d bring together three more shows again.  I hoped for Hannah, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Sonny With A Chance.  Recently, Selena Gomez guest starred brilliantly on Sonny as herself, thus establishing in “the Sonny Universe” that Wizards of Waverly Place is just a TV show.  Though I doubt the Disney Channel would hold tight to continuity if it meant preventing them from bringing some of their hit franchises together.

Premiering at 8pm July 17, 2009 on the Disney Channel, the crossover event is called Wizards on Deck With Hannah Montana.

The Celebrity Cafe has a break down on the crossover event as well the contest that is coinciding with the event.
