Disney Unveils New Back to School Fashions
Do you like the fashion styles as seen on Wizards of Waverly Place and JONAS? Now’s your chance to wear clothes inspired by these shows!
Disney’s new fashion line features the preppy collegiate JONAS collection and the Wizards‘ boho-chic style.
See them displayed on Disney’s first ever Tween Back-To-School fashion show shot in Los Angeles and co-hosted by Jennifer Stone, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Chelsea Staub, JONAS.
Back to School Fashion Inspired by Selena Gomez and Jonas Brothers
Described as “preppy collegiate” and “boho chic,” this new fashion line is inspired by the clothes worn on JONAS and Wizards of Waverly Place. These age-appropriate clothes will debut on The Disney Back-to-School 2009 Virtual Fashion Show at www.youtube.com/DisneyLiving on Thursday, July 23, 2009. This stylish and affordable clothing line will hit stores like J.C. Penney, K-Mart, Sears, and WalMart.
Disney Orders Up ‘Good Luck’ for Bridgit Mendler

Is newcomer Bridgit Mendler the next big Disney star? That’s what Disney is counting on by casting her in the newest Disney Channel Original Series titled Good Luck Chuck, which stars the 16-year-old actress.
You might remember the young actress as Nick Jonas’ love interest on the Disney Channel series JONAS. She will soon be seen as a blood-sucking vampire in a four-episode story arc on Wizards of Waverly Place, another Disney Channel series.
“We just fell in love with her,” said Adam Bonnett, senior vp original programming at Disney Channel. “She has all the attributes of a Disney star.”
Now Mendler stars as Casey Holliday in Good Luck Charlie.
She is following a similar path as fellow Disney Channel star, Selena Gomez. Gomez first appeared in an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Then, she guest starred on Hannah Montana as Hannah’s rival Mikayla. Eventually she was rewarded a starring role on Wizards of Waverly Place.
Joining her is Disney Channel regular Jason Dolley (Cory In the House, Minutemen and Hatching Pete) as her brother Teddy.
I’m glad that Dolley is getting another Disney Channel series. Cory was just not a good show. But he turned in great performances in two Disney Channel Original Movies.
Charlie follows the two teenagers and their 10-year-old brother, Gabe, whose parents enlist their help when they return to work after the birth of their fourth child, Charlotte, aka Charlie. With their parents juggling full time careers, the older Holliday siblings pitch in, getting very familiar with baby formula, burp clothes and babysitting while navigating typical teenage life.
In what should be the heart-warming highlight of the series, Teddy creates personalized video diaries for Charlie. Each video will chronicle Teddy’s daily adventures and mishaps for Charlie to use as advice when she grows older.
I like this hook for the show as we’re doing something similar for our infant daughter.
The show is being labeled as “a family show from a kid’s point of view.”
Good Luck Charlie will start production in August 2009 and debut on the Disney Channel in 2010.
