Demi Lovato’s Here We Go Again Debuts at #1
Much praise and kudos to Demi Lovato for debuting a #1 on the Billboard 200!! Here We Go Again, Demi’s 2nd album, sold in excess of 107,000 units. Don’t Forget, her first album, debuted at #2 and sold 89,000 units in the first week.
Quite a change!
Don’t Forget came on the heels of her appearance on Camp Rock with the Jonas Brothers. She was just starting to make a name for herself.
Now, Demi stars in the hit Disney Channel series Sonny With A Chance. She co-starred with real-life BFF Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) in the smash Disney Channel movie Princess Protection Program, which ranks as the year’s # 1 TV movie among Kids 6 – 11 and Tweens and cable TV’s # 1 movie telecast in Total Viewers and Households.
She started small, playing concerts in South America, before headlining her own summer tour!
The review for both her sophomore album and her concert tour have been outstanding! People are having fun with Demi’s new music.
In a recent New York Times Sunday Arts & Leisure cover feature, the paper praised Demi with:
“Ms. Lovato stands out artistically, with tastes and attitudes that appear unscripted. Ms. Lovato is the most exciting of the company’s (reference to Disney) musical stars.”
On her album, Here We Go Again, the Los Angeles Times wrote:
“Lovato channels a witty, pouty ingenue in high heels who’s not afraid to call the shots, especially after a good cry.”
Hometown Dallas Morning News echoed the sentiment:
“She sings with rocking fire and angst. With each note she’s telling us there’s more than teen dream appeal at work. Lovato brews and broods.”
I’m thoroughly impresed with Here We Go Again!!! It’s outstanding, amazing, and superb. I can’t praise Demi enough for this new sound. It surpasses just young tween pop. I’m extremely impressed with any artist that writes their own music. And on this album, Demi either wrote or co-wrote all the songs.
When Demi had started her summer tour, only Don’t Forget was available. I wasn’t impressed enough to plunk down my hard-earned cash to see Demi in concert. Now with Here We Go Again, I’m sad I didn’t take that chance on this young singer. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see Demi in concert on this summer tour. Hopefully with all the sucesss and buzz she’s generating, she’ll go on tour again next summer.
I’ll be there, Demi, for sure!!! You rock and I can’t wait to rock with you LIVE in concert!!
Congrats to Demi Lovato on the success of your new album!! Good luck on the rest of your tour…on Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam…and Sonny With a Chance!!!
I encourage everyone to purchase Demi’s new CD. You won’t be dissapointed!

Selena Gomez is Single, Having Fun and Glad to be Herself!

The talented young Disney starlet confesses in the past, she felt she needed a boy to feel complete but not anymore. Like many teenage girls, Gomez thought she needed to change herself for the guy. Thankfully, she’s realizing it’s better to be true to yourself and find comfort with what makes one special.

‘Thirteen Reasons Why’ Author Has Sushi Dinner with Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez loves the murder mystery novel Thirteen Reasons Why! So the Wizards of Waverly Place star invited the author, Jay Asher, to a sushi dinner with her , her mom and her cousin!
Wow!!
Asher boasts on his blog what fun he had with the young Disney star. But, he writes, “she is an extremely down-to-earth, funny, and very sweet person.”
He jokes with a reader in the comment section, “You’re just jealous that I have a signed copy of the [Princess Protection Program] DVD and you don’t!”
Um…I am!!! I’m jealous!!!
Congrats to Mr. Asher on getting to meet Selena Gomez. I also wish much success to him with Thirteen Reasons Why because the it sounds like an interesting novel as well. So check it out at ThirteenReasonsWhy.com.
Read Jay Asher’s blog post and see his picture with Selena here.
Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are One And The Same
Real-life BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez starred in the friendship movie, Princess Protection Program on the Disney Channel. The movie is now available on Disney DVD, which includes another team-up of the two friends – singing the film’s poppy, fun theme song “One And The Same.”
I love the special effects the director employs to reinforce the song’s theme.
Ever since I’ve heard it, I can’t help singing this song. The music video makes the song more memorable as you can tell that Demi and Selena are having too much fun singing and acting out scenes in the music video. Their great friendship, and the fun they have with each other, is contagious!
Demi and Selena, your fans want more collabations together!!
Just Jared Jr. has pictures from the set of the music video.
Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie Soundtrack
To coincide with Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie, Disney is releasing a soundtrack to movie. Premiering in August, Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie will air on the Disney Channel as part of the network’s Summer of Stars.
Here’s the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie Soundtrack Listing:
1. Disappear – Selena Gomez
2. Magical – Selena Gomez
3. Magic (Pilot) – Selena Gomez
4. Strange Magic – Steve Rushton
5. Magic (The Cars) – Honor Society
6. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic – Mitchel Musso
7. Magic Carpet Ride – KSM
8. Magic (Xanadu) – Meaghan Martin
9. You Can Do Magic – Drew Seeley
10. Some Call It Magic Raven – Symoné
11. Do You Believe in Magic – Aly & AJ
12. Everything Is Not As It Seems – Selena Gomez
Now listen to samples from the album:
Unfortunately, I’m not not overly excited about this soundtrack. I love Aly & AJ (now called 78violet), but their contribution to the album is song that already appeared on “Into the Rush.” Selena Gomez does sing four of the twelve songs on the soundtrack, so if I’m purchasing it I’m buying it for Selena. More likely I’ll purchase the Selena Gomez songs off iTunes.
It’s obvious Disney decided to just remake songs that have magic in the title, since it’s for a movie about Wizards. While it’s neat to hear the Disney music stars’ rendition of these pop classics, I’d much rather Disney offer original music for the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie.

Wizards Of Waverly Place: The Movie – Full Length Trailer
During the Friday, June 26 premiere of Disney Channel’s Princess Protection Program, we received an extra special treat in the form of the full-length trailer of Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie! The two-hour movie version stars all the series regulars and will premiere on the Disney Channel August 1 at 8pm.
The movie deals with the Russo family vacation gone wrong. Parents Jerry and Theresa decide to celebrate their anniversary at the Carribbean resort where they first met, bringing their children along. Alex (Selena Gomez) becomes upset at the lack of freedom she’s given. In a fit of anger, she wishes her parents had never met, casting a time reversal spell causing her parents to not meet.
With her brothers Justin and Alex, they must journey into the jungle to find the Stone of Dreams to reverse the spell and save the family.
Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie looks like a winner! The TV show is fun and the movie version seems to have captured that essence, along with a bit of extra added action and suspense. Check out the full-length trailer below!
